Army Service Specific Information



Potential Army EEO Training Students

Note for potential Army EEO training students seeking to attend a DEOMI in-residence EEO training offering: DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY NOMINATION PROCEDURES FOR DEOMI EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (CIVILIAN) COURSES.

Upon receipt of the course announcement memo from DEOMI, which is usually about 45 days prior to the start date of the training, the Army, Office of Diversity and Leadership will notify the EEO community via memorandum to the Army EEO Directors of the  upcoming DEOMI training course.

The nomination procedures are outlined in the memorandum as follows:

All Department of the Army EEO Civilians and Military interested in attending the DEOMI EEO (civilian) training courses MUST be nominated via their respective Army Command (ACOM), Army Service Component Command (ASCC), or Direct Reporting Unit (DRU) EEO Director. Installation Management Command (IMCOM) garrison nominations must go through their respective region to Headquarters (HQ) IMCOM EEO Director. DEOMI will not accept direct applications for EEO civilian training courses.

Please converse with the EEO Officer at your location and express your interest for a quota. The EEO officer will make the determination if you meet the course prerequisites by submitting our nomination information (i.e., your name, series/rank, title, and grade/pay band, commercial and DSN business and fax numbers, e-mail address, and special accomodations are needed.

Uniforms
DEOMI is in a region where Summer Uniforms are authorized year round. Winter uniforms are an authorized option for the period of 1 December through 31 March.

The uniform for attendees of the LTAS is business casual:  dress shirts or polo shirts, trousers or skirts, comfortable shoes, business suits or sport coats are optional, a sweater or wind breaker is suggested.

Prerequisites
The last three weeks of the EOAC and EOPMC are dedicated to service specific EO program studies. All personnel attending the Army Service Specific Course must successfully complete the EOAC or EOPMC.
