Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Instructor/Program Manager:
EEO Instructors/Program Managers are EEO Specialists who require:
- A minimum of six years experience as an EEO officer, manager or
specialist with at least one year of specialized experience as an EEO trainer/instructor
- An in-depth knowledge of EEO programs, regulations, and laws
- A mastery of EEO program analysis, organizational analysis, training
techniques, and in addition, must master 61 lessons among seven courses and programs
that are taught
- EEO Instructors/Program Managers provide platform instruction
and small group facilitation for both resident and non resident education and training
Military Program Manager:
A Program Manager is a field grade officer who is responsible for:
- Supervising all platform and small group trainers assigned to
their respective Program
- The Equal Opportunity Advisor Program (EOAP) Manager who is responsible
for training all active component Equal Opportunity Advisors (EOA)s here at DEOMI
via the 10 week EOAP
- The Reserve Component Program Manager who is responsible for training
all Reserve and National Guard EOAs here at DEOMI via the 4 week Reserve Component
course
Trainer/Instructor:
A Trainer is responsible for:
- Performing all platform and small group instruction (to include
activities associated with that instruction) for Equal Opportunity (EO) training
that takes place in residence as well as on the road
- Conducting continuous research on lessons to ensure lesson information
remains relevant and current
Instructional Designer/Curriculum
Developer:
An Instructional Designer/Curriculum Developer is responsible for:
- Designing and developing instructional material for training programs,
courses, seminars, and workshops that support DoD equal opportunity and equal employment
opportunity occupations
- Demonstrating and utilizing effective needs analysis, project
management, course development, and evaluation skills
- Utilizing multimedia technology and authoring tools to independently
develop entry and advanced level courses for both internal and external audiences
(Developers)
- Acting as a link between Research and Development and Service
liaisons to determine needs of the course and appropriate method of delivery
Faculty Trainer & Evaluator:
Faculty Trainers/Evaluators are responsible for:
- The professional development and evaluation of DEOMI trainers
- Qualifying and certifying instructors in the presentation and
facilitation of equal opportunity and equal employment opportunity occupational training
- Reviewing instructor's performance through classroom observation
and examination of instructional materials and course design.
- Observations of classroom behavior are intended for reviewing
the teaching process and its possible relationship to learning. The focus is on
verbal and nonverbal behaviors of both the instructor and the students in the classroom.
Researcher:
Researchers are responsible for:
- Performing professional and scientific work requiring the effective
design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, and other scientific
methods and techniques supporting the strategic goals of the Institute
- Conducting business case studies regarding DEOMI’s impact
on the DoD and return on investment (ROI) based upon objective and subjective data
- Conducting and publishing basic and applied research in the areas
of EO/EEO, diversity, culture, organizational effectiveness, and other Human Relations
studies
