Discussion Videos "Snapshots"

Thank you for your interest in DEOMI's discussion video "Snapshots." "Snapshots" are intended to reinforce any training provided by Equal Opportunity Advisors (EOAs) or Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) professionals, and are not meant to replace any required training designed to enhance the total mission readiness of a command or agency.

"Snapshots" are designed to generate discussion about incidents that have occurred. After each video, several questions are provided to prompt discussions on different topics. Additionally, since the DEOMI Web site is open to the general public, we encourage you to recommend that members of your respective commands or organizations visit the website to enhance their knowledge of human relations issues. To obtain a copy of "Snapshots," select the Video Request Form and fill out the required fields.

"A MAJOR CONCERN"
A female lieutenant colonel is attending a meeting with a group of her colleagues. Everyone is introduced by their rank except the female officer, who is introduced by her first name.

  
"CAN WE DATE"
A male lieutenant and his female Company Commander sometimes engaged in friendly banter at work. The interactions were never outside the bounds of propriety.

  
"DISCIPLINE"
A female officer recently got in trouble and was going through the disciplinary process. She approaches her commanding officer and tries to explain her side of the story.

  
"EAR MUFFS"
A male officer in a joint command is talking on the phone in a private conversation with his wife, when he notices there is someone else in the room with him.

  
"GIRL TALK"
Two female service members are outside on a work detail. Two male service members walk by and give the females a hard time.

  
"I HAD A DREAM ABOUT MS. MOLLY"
A female enlisted service member was in her male supervisor’s office. The male supervisor told her about a sexually explicit dream he had about her the night before.

  
"NO BIG DEAL"
A female service member calls her mother seeking advice about an incident that took place in her new unit. The mother reminds her that it was her choice to join the service.

  
"PRETTY WEEKEND"
A female employee is a new member in her unit. She comes into work on the weekend and runs into her commanding office.
